Crash — the 1996 Cronenberg one

Now here’s a film I remember walking out of hating.

Now? I saw it a few years back — 2002 or so — and thinking

Not as bad as I remembered it…

I’m flipping around tonight, and my first instinct was to suddenly realize the adrenaline rush similarity between the “thrill” of an accident and sex.

I still can not relate to the main characters and their colective fetish, but I can now understand it better.

And of course, while it’s on, Grace wakes up. Time to change the station!

Breaking?

So, the pope has been dead for about 12 hours, and CNN is still calling it breaking news?

I blame it all on post-nine-eleven hysteria.

Odd realization about Robert Blake

Isn’t is odd that the last time we saw Robert Blake in a film it was Lost Highway?

Isn’t it odd that Lynch now admits he got it from the OJ trial?

The more things change, the more they change.
Oh, wait. The more things stay the same, the more they stay the same.

Hey, why is the contrapositive of those two statements a cliche?

Anybody? Anybody? Bueller?

WordPress 1.5 has been released

Upgraded to wordpress 1.5. It was a no-brainer (or, as I originally typed it, a no-vrainer, because everyone knows how much I’m trying to get all traces of vrainage out of the house, now that Grace is here).

WordPress 1.5 now directly supports themes. I’m rather fond of Cup-o-Joe (as you can probably tell), but I want to have the sidebar headers generated in text, but I can’t figure out how to download fonts in Firefox.

It’s not easy to get good debate about the evolution/creation debate

Except perhaps in the interesting people mailing list.

From John S. Quarterman

This isn’t something that many of us particularly want to do; science isn’t about attacking religion; it is about science. However, this isn’t science; it is politics. What creationists believe and teach in their own homes and churches is their affair. But when they interject their dogma into public school systems as fact, they expose it for critical examination, not to mention ridicule.
