Remember naked bongo guy?

Date March 31st, 2005 Comment No Comments

I can’t remember his name (unless specifically reminded), but The Smoking Gun has archived the address at which he was arrested for, well, playing bongos naked.

What a warm first day of spring

Date March 21st, 2005 Comment No Comments

What a day for Grace to learn to ride her big girl bike! (The Dora one, not the Disney one.)
Grace rode her big girl bike around the block and to the park, then rode it back home after swinging and climbing for a while.
Then, she rode around the cul-de-sac for a while.
Beautiful!

Geeks seldom differ

It’s nice to see that there are other people who keep links to their favorite Firefox Extensions.
Perhaps I’m just lazy by putting the latest versions of the ones I use in one place.
Not only do I keep my extensions locally (yet globally accessable), but I also keep my adblock configuration that way as well!

Kites are fun

Fantastic weather — too nice, in fact. Everyone, and I do mean everyone was at the Zilker Kite Festival today. That’s why we stayed home and enjoyed the Sun Tree Kite Festival.

Odd realization about Robert Blake

Date March 10th, 2005 Comment No Comments

Isn’t is odd that the last time we saw Robert Blake in a film it was Lost Highway?
Isn’t it odd that Lynch now admits he got it from the OJ trial?
The more things change, the more they change.
Oh, wait. The more things stay the same, the more they stay the same.
Hey, why is the [...]

Using javascript to balance the 3-column css

Date March 9th, 2005 Comment No Comments

In the wordpress theme I prefer (link here to original), I hacked in lots of purple.
Then I wanted to change the right column width. Eww — it was using background images of a fixed size to color the left and right columns!
Pulled out those background images, and replaced them with color strings ala #666 [...]

Good TV is rare

I finally got my hands on the first season DVD of Made in Canada (which ran as “The Industry” here in the US on PBS and Bravo).
Some of my favorite quotes:

Victor: The movie will still be finished, it will just [...]

Got Grace a new bike

Date March 1st, 2005 Comment No Comments

Her birthday bike was too big; her legs just aren’t long enough to follow through the bottom of the stroke, so she ended up braking to a stop each cycle. Not very enabling.
So, we got her an el-cheapo smaller bike (she chose Dora the Explorer). All day long there have been people coming [...]
